If someone had told me that I would be Deputy Head boy of Carisbrooke three years ago, I wouldn't have believed them. I wouldn't have had the confidence to even apply for the role and it's many key responsibilities. Carisbrooke has changed me for the better. I'm more confident and can rely on my own personal skills and knowledge a lot more because I trust that I know the right thing to do. Carisbrooke has also made me, if I do say so myself, a very good sportsman and this is all down to the great teachers who want all students to do the best they can in everything that they do.
I remember my very first day at Carisbrooke. Moving from a little school of only around 70 people up to a big school where there are 700+ students and staff can be a very daunting ordeal but over time you get to know more people, make more and more friends and very quickly you realise, your little primary school is just a memory and doesn't compare to your new school.
The reason I stood for Head Boy is because I want to make a difference around the school. I want to make the school more appealing to new students and to parents who are thinking of Carisbrooke as an option for their children. I also want to make the most of the resources we have at the school currently and make sure every resource we have is being used, especially in the P.E department. I believe that I was chosen as deputy head boy because I am suited for the role. I am very good at voicing my personal opinion and also making others ideas and opinions heard. I am very hard working and also happy and easy to be friends with; I’m looking forward to the year ahead.
